Instructions:
With your seam ripper, open the pant leg along the outside seam. Start at the bottom and open up to somewhere above the knee or further up if sewing a design along the thigh area of the pant leg. Lay the pant leg flat. Import/open the embroidery design you are going to use. Print a design template using your embroidery software at actual size. Or cut a piece of paper roughly the dimensions of the design to help with placement. Choose the proper size hoop for the embroidery design. Trim a piece of stablizer that fits your hoop and hoop it individually. Attach hoop to your machine. Move needle to position over center point. Sew out your design. Now to reassemble the pant leg seam. With pant leg inside out, Press side seams flat with an iron. Resew along the original pant leg seam and also sew the bottom hem in place. If your original seam also had an outside top stitch seam you will want to turn pant leg back out. Top stitch along the seam with a heavier thread, colour matched to original.
Supplies Required:
A pair of Jeans Embroidery capable sewing machine. Choice of heavy sewing thread (matching original colour) for resewing jean seams and pockets & Polyester coloured embroidery threads for the embroidery designs. Enough fusible backing or cutaway stabilizer for each embroidery design hooped. Enough Tearaway backing to size of your choices of embroidery designs. Sharp seam thread ripper. Sewing & Embroidery Temporary Spray Adhesive for fixing Jean material to backings. Sharp Scissors, tailor’s pencil or other washout marker, straight pins, ruler.
