  • Re: Thread on Thread Pilot.

Sometimes it does take a fresh approach just to get to the matter. I am glad you are able to go on to the next project! BTW, you can use small spools (I don't know of one that would be too small) and, in general, do not need to go with the 'cones' which are for professionals. The spools of...

  • Re: Needles & Threads Question

There is a blog post on needles . Needles are very important for many reasons, but an important thing to remember is that embroidery needles generally have a little more 'give' than standard needles. When you see your machine zipping around a design, you will see just why! Thread is a choice...

  • Re: Needles & Threads Question

Hi, Deb. I believe it is important to use brand names when it comes to needles and thread. I have used both Organ and Klasse as well as Schmetz. Titanium coated embroidery needles are advertised as lasting longer and better to use when adhesive is use to stabilize the item being embroidered. I use this...

  • Re: How do I eliminate thread loops?

I agree that towels can be a serious situation in ME. There are tons of ideas on what to do, and frankly, some are contradictory and some do/don't make sense. I suspect, and certainly could be wrong, that you have a tension issues. Loops are generally a tension issue. Loops sometimes look like a...

  • How do I eliminate thread loops?

I've been monogramming some thick towels. Most of them ended up with at least 1 embroidery thread loop on top, and some have several. Usually I can carefully pull them through to the back, but not this time. I'm going to have to take the stitching out and redo it on some. How can I keep this...

  • Re: Thread Pilot

I don't use the thread guide,I simply let it flow through the top. I bring it from the spool up through the spaces provided on the top of the pilot, then directly to my machine. It flows much better and I have not had a problem with it catching in the spring at all that way. I only use the spring...

  • Re: How Often Do You Change Your Needles

If it is for a gift for someone,I change with every design. If I am just playing around to see how something will sew out, I don't. If I have used it on any thing like a sticky stabilizers ,I change it as well, sometimes they can gum things up a bit. If I use it on something thick, like towels or denim...

  • Thread Pilot

I am having trouble using the Thread Pilot. My thread keeps breaking. How are you supposed to thread the Pilot? My thread seems to get caught in the spring. If I place the thread through the thread guide and not the top, the thread won't spool off. What am I doing wrong?

  • Organizing all that ME "stuff."

Ok...I've agreed about being addicted to free designs and have found many of the wonderful sites that offer them. I've used Catalog Express to organize all the designs (more than a thousand at this point). And I've been in overdrive sewing out designs... Have completed more than a dozen projects...
