About Us

Mission Statement: To inspire the home embroiderer by being the source of the most creative ideas, the most valuable services, and the most sought-after products in the world of home embroidery

Background

Ann Cobb began stitching doll clothes as soon as she was old enough to hold a needle and began making her own clothes in jr. high school when she was given an old Singer portable that, although it stitched only a single straight stitch, came with a treasure trove of attachments, a few of which she still uses. Over the years, that old Singer was replaced several times as Ann continued to sew for herself and then for her husband, children and grandchildren, becoming, along the way, one of the most recognized names in the world of home embroidery.

Not long after web sites were first introduced to the Internet, Ann recognized the need for a forum in which home embroiderers could share designs and ideas, and the AnnTheGran.com Design Exchange was born. The Design Exchange now offers more than 6,000 designs contributed by many talented digitizers from all over the world, all available absolutely free for inspiration and use by what has become hundreds of thousands of passionate embroiderers.

Since those early days, with new features, services, and products being added regularly, AnnTheGran.com has retained its reputation as the Internet’s most comprehensive home embroidery resource, dedicated to supplying the home embroidery market with a balance of no-cost content and quality products at great prices. It is the Internet's most visited home embroidery site, with 3.5 million page views per month, about 400,000 visits per month from 180,000 unique visitors, and a registered user base of 130,000.

We are always adding new design lines, new software, innovative projects, embroidery tips and tricks, the whole spectrum of embroidery supplies, and online features, that offer the home embroiderer an online toolbox, and an online playground, unlike anything available anywhere.
